Buying Organic Fruits

People think that they are eating healthy if they are eating fruit, without understanding what goes into the fruit they are eating. The fruit you are eating is most likely not as healthy as you thought it was if you are going to the grocery store and buying fruit that is not labeled as “organic.”

There are three things in specific that are done with the fruit you buy in the grocery store that you may not want done to the food you are eating! Firstly, there are the pesticides used on fruit that is not labeled as “organic” – which is not good for humans to consume. Secondly, most of this fruit is strangely large and lasts an unnaturally long time because it is grown using growth hormones and preservatives. And lastly, in order to make the fruits look shiny and more appealing when they are on display, the fruits are covered in a layer of wax (apples in particular!). Organic fruit is not that much more money than the substitute, and this is your best bet for eating fruit that is truly healthy for you.

Organic fruit is grown in a completely natural way– the same way you would grow fruit in a garden in your own backyard! This means that there are no unnatural hormones or preservatives used in them, and there are no unnatural pesticides used either. Of course, this makes the fruit healthier for you to eat, but it also makes the food far tastier than the fruit that is not grown in an organic manner.

There are two things you will need to keep in mind when you go shopping for organic fruits, and the first is that these fruits often will be a bit smaller. Do not be concerned, as this is natural, and as you will probably also find that you get filled up much more quickly eating these fruits. And secondly, make sure you do not buy in bulk, as these fruits will not last weeks and weeks in your pantry the way the less-natural fruit will!

If you enjoy eating fruit in order to “eat healthy,” make sure the fruit you are eating is as healthy for you as fruit is supposed to be!

Killing A Lobster

You might have decided to prepare baked lobster at home, but you do not know the best way to kill a lobster. After all, most people boil their lobsters, which is a straightforward and simple way to both kill and cook the lobster! But the best way to have a truly delicious, gourmet lobster, you will need to bake it – and you will need to know how to get started!

This is the technique you are supposed to use if you are preparing live, fresh lobster – which is the only way to go if you are planning to make some lobster! If you are eating lobster that has been frozen and dead for weeks, you are not really eating lobster at all.

The pair of front claws of your lobster will be tied by some sort of rubber band when you buy them, and you need to make sure these rubber bands stay where they are. Otherwise, you might end up with the sort of injury you were not expecting to sustain when you were simply setting out to cook dinner. In order to get started, you will need three items (besides, of course, the lobster!): a cutting board, a towel, and a sharp knife.

Cook meals from your favorite restaurants with the Copycat Recipes Cookbook!

Place the lobster on the cutting board – facing away from your “cutting hand” – and fold the towel so that you can place it over the lobster’s eyes to keep it sedated. Once you have covered the towel over the lobster’s eyes, find the crease down the center of its back, and put the point of the knife on this line – up near the head. From this point on, everything is straightforward; simply drive the point downward and pull down the spine – toward the lobster’s tail. After you reach the tail, turn the lobster around and pull the knife back the other way – all the way through the lobster’s head. The lobster will experience a quick, painless death with that first plunge of the knife, and you will have a lobster that is cleaved into two perfect halves.

After this, all that is left is to rinse out the lobster’s insides in the sink, and then to simply follow the recipe in front of you!
